Love Island voting results: when they air and which numbers are published

Answer first

Love Island voting results are announced on air: ITV shows UK outcomes during the programme, and Peacock reveals USA results in scheduled episodes. ITV published percentages for its 2021 final vote, while Peacock's Season 8 winner announcement gave no count or percentage. In both countries the public vote decides the winning couple.

Love Island USA voting results: the Season 8 reveals

Peacock announced both Season 8 reveals ahead of time. The results of Tuesday's Final 4 Vote were set for Episode 33 on Friday, July 10 at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT, an episode Peacock said would give audiences the finalist lineup. The verdict on the winning vote was set for the finale on Sunday, July 12, streaming exclusively on Peacock, once the ballots had been counted. Two rounds, two reveals, each pinned to a named episode.

The two reveals answer different questions. The Final 4 results settle who reaches the finale; the finale verdict settles who wins.

Then came the winners. Peacock's announcement names Trinity and Bryce as the winners of Love Island USA Season 8 and attaches no vote count and no percentage. Nothing in that announcement shows the size of the lead or the number of ballots behind it.

The date and the platform were public before each reveal, and for the Final 4 so was the episode number. One item is missing from the winner announcement: a number for the vote itself. Peacock states when and where a result appears and what the ballot decides, and stops there.

Love Island UK voting results: shown in the programme, winner in the final

ITV's unit is the voting event. Its 2026 terms say the outcome of a voting event will be shown during the programme, which gives each event its own outcome and leaves the final as the event that names the winners.

ITV's 2026 terms call the last episode the Final Love Island Live Show. In it, the couple with the most valid votes will be declared the winners of the competition. A rule of most votes needs a plurality, and ITV's 2021 figures show what that looks like: the first couple stands at 42.02%, under half of the final vote.

A vote also belongs to one series. ITV's voting FAQ says votes can only be used for the 2026 series of Love Island, so nothing carries over into the next series.

The clause on outcomes promises the on-screen reveal and gives no date or hour for it, so the programme itself is the announcement. A page of percentages, like ITV's 2021 final release, goes beyond that clause, and a 2026 figure stays unknown until ITV publishes one.

Love Island voting percentages: what ITV published for the 2021 final

ITV's 2021 final figures rank four couples by their share of the vote, from the leader down to fourth place.

Each figure is a share of that final, and a share turns into a number of votes only when the organiser also states the total. A percentage on its own carries no total. The 2021 figures therefore say who led and by what share, and leave the number of ballots cast open.

The leader's share sits well clear of the runner-up's, while the bottom two shares sit close together. A percentage lets a reader compare every couple; a name alone, as in Peacock's Season 8 winner announcement, settles who won and nothing more.

Set against the comparison table, the pattern is plain: one row in five carries percentages, and it is a 2021 row.

  • Millie & Liam: 42.02%
  • Chloe & Toby: 30.85%
  • Faye & Teddy: 14.85%
  • Kaz & Tyler: 12.27%

The winner's prize: what the public vote decides and what it leaves open

Peacock states that the public vote will determine which couple walks away as the winning duo, with the bragging rights and the cash prize. The prize goes to the winning couple, not to the fans who voted for them.

Earlier rounds decide other things. Peacock's Love Island page says voting results influence recouplings, eliminations and other major twists throughout the season. A couple's path to the prize therefore runs through those earlier rounds.

The rules do not say how the winners claim the prize, how it is taxed or how they are notified.

ITV's winner clause declares the winners of the competition and mentions no prize. On the UK side the public vote decides a title, and the clause attaches no sum to it.

Reddit threads after a Love Island result: discussion, not the tally

Reddit carries the reaction to a Love Island result, and the ballot itself runs elsewhere. Peacock says viewers use the Love Island USA app to vote on major game decisions involving the Islanders, and that the producers tally the results once a window closes.

A thread repeats a result the show announced, and that repeat is worth exactly what the announcement was worth. A vote total is another matter. Peacock's winner announcement gives none, ITV's 2021 release gives percentages, and a raw count posted by a fan therefore comes from the poster, not from Peacock or ITV.

A fan poll inside a thread measures the fans who answered it, not the viewers whose votes the producers counted. The count belongs to the organiser; a thread only comments on it.

A reader checks an official result against the channels the Paramount+ terms name for the reveal: the broadcast, the app and social media. A figure that appears in none of them has no organiser behind it.

Results tonight? A window's duration, its close and the reveal date

A Love Island USA window is announced during an episode, so each one carries its own deadline. NBC's guide quotes the Love Island USA app on duration, voting open for 2 hours and 30 minutes, and gives a close of 12:30 a.m. ET. Peacock adds that windows vary in duration from minutes to hours.

Results trail the window. NBC's guide describes a pattern: the outcome is announced in an episode that airs a couple of days later, so a reveal on the night a window shuts is not what NBC describes. Season 8's Final 4 shows a gap of the same kind: a Tuesday ballot, and results set for Friday, July 10.

Peacock's word for the tally is quickly, and NBC's couple of days is the wait for the episode that carries the reveal. Anyone asking for results tonight is therefore asking about the reveal, and the reveal follows the episode schedule.

The one-vote limits: ITV counts numbers, Peacock counts people

ITV and Peacock count differently. ITV's 2026 terms limit viewers to one vote per registered mobile number per voting event, so the unit is a number and an event. Peacock sets one vote per person during each window, and its voting portal inside the app asks fans to register by verifying a valid U.S. phone number, so the unit is a person and a window.

Neither limit says what happens to a ballot that breaks it. ITV's winner clause counts valid votes only and does not list what makes one invalid. Whether a ballot is flagged as fake or disqualified is decided by the organiser under its own rules, and the limits as stated do not describe how a fake ballot is detected.

Nobody outside the production can say whether a particular ballot was flagged, which leaves the published allowance as the only fixed point a reader has.

Do this in order

  1. The window closes

Peacock says that once a window closes no additional votes are accepted, so the result reflects only ballots cast inside it.

  2. The producers tally the window

Peacock says the Love Island producers quickly tally up the results once a window closes. The ballots were cast in the official app, so the producers' count is the official count.

  3. The host passes the tally to the cast

Peacock's guide has host Ariana Madix share America's Vote with the Islanders once the producers pass the tally along.

  4. The broadcast, the app or social media carries the reveal

The Love Island USA terms on Paramount+ say that once a voting period concludes and results are tabulated, the results are revealed during the applicable broadcast of the show, via the app and/or social media.

Fast answers

How many votes did Love Island USA get?

Peacock's announcement of the Season 8 winners, Trinity and Bryce, gave no vote count and no percentage. What Peacock does state is the allowance: one vote per person in each window.

How many votes did the 2021 Love Island UK final get?

ITV's 2021 final figures are percentages, not a vote total, with Millie & Liam on 42.02%. A percentage becomes a count only when the organiser also publishes the total, and these figures carry none.

When are Love Island USA results announced after voting closes?

NBC's guide says Love Island USA results are typically announced in an episode that airs a couple of days later. Peacock names the reveal episode in advance: Episode 33 on Friday, July 10 for the Season 8 Final 4.

When does ITV show the Love Island UK result?

ITV's 2026 terms say the outcome of a voting event will be shown during the programme. The winning couple is declared in the final episode, the Final Love Island Live Show.

Do Reddit threads show the official Love Island vote count?

No. Peacock says viewers use the Love Island USA app to vote and that the producers tally the results after each window closes, so a thread can only comment on the count.

Who receives the Love Island USA prize?

The winning couple receives the Season 8 prize, and Peacock says the public vote determines which couple that is. The prize goes to the couple, not to the fans who cast the ballots.

Can an ITV Love Island vote from an earlier series count in 2026?

No. ITV's FAQ says votes can only be used for the 2026 series of Love Island, so an earlier series' votes have no use in this one.

What makes a Love Island vote invalid or flagged as fake?

ITV's winner clause counts valid votes only and does not list what makes a ballot invalid. The limits ITV and Peacock state say nothing about how a fake vote is detected or what follows a breach, so the organiser alone decides what is flagged or disqualified.

Where this guide stops

Only the organiser can publish a vote count, and no figure here is an estimate. ITV and Peacock alone decide which votes are valid, when a result is announced and whether a figure is released. A result cannot be checked early, sped up or changed by anyone outside the show, and a Reddit thread holds no ballots.

The organiser's rules decide what counts

Each organiser's own terms decide which votes are valid, and an organiser can void votes or disqualify an entry. ITV's Love Island terms limit each registered mobile number to one vote per voting event and rule out any method the terms do not state. America's Got Talent asks voters to register and accept its official voting rules, with a cap of ten votes per act, per voting method, per voting window. The American Music Awards decided each winner by the total of valid votes in the category.

How ordinary voting looks to an organiser

Organisers write an ordinary voter down in numbers. The American Music Awards allowed up to 30 votes per award per day on each voting platform, the NASCAR All-Star Race fan vote allowed five a day per unique email address, and the iHeartRadio Music Awards allowed 50 a day per category. A crowd of separate voters stays inside limits like these and arrives day by day, with busier days when an organiser opens a boost. This describes how organisers count; it is not a way around a check.

The legal position and what we refuse

We give no legal advice and cite no statute: the terms that bind a fan vote are the organiser's own, and they fix who may vote. Dancing with the Stars online voters must be at least 18 and in the United States, its territories or Canada; Love Island USA voting is open to US residents aged 18 or older, or with parental permission. We refuse member-only ballots such as the ACM Awards, categories an organiser decides itself, as MTV did with Best Video, and any vote for public office.

What is refunded and what never is

The part of a request that is not delivered before the organiser's voting closes is refunded. A result, a disqualification and a voided vote are never refunded, because the organiser decides all three. Nor is a vote's worth inside the format covered: the MLB All-Star ballot did not carry Phase 1 totals into Phase 2, and at The Game Awards fan voting is one tenth of the vote that decides winners.
